NIGERIA: ATIKU VICE DILEMMA

Atiku must be under all manners of threats and pressure on who should be his running mate. Tribal war lords from the East and West, politicians , godfathers, pundits and Facebook politicians are all prescribing and threatening .
We have been through this route before.
For a role that is meant to manage the economy, we are looking for candidates for the wrong reasons. Nigerian economy is in dire straights. Because Buhari is an economic neophyte. His smart deputy who should lead the economy is a law professor with little knowledge of the economy. See where that has left us.
Nigerians should demand from Atiku a really competent person who can run the economy . Luckily, we have lots of these people from the South of the country. East or West.
For once we deserve the best. Not just whats expedient.
This may sound naive. I am not a politician. But see where former choices have left us. Africa’s largest economy is now the breeding ground for poverty. The current government is piling on debt as fast as it can. We are spending more than we are earning. Running deficits and borrowing to pay salaries in states.
Buhari was a mistake. Mistakes have consequences. We are all feeling the pinch right now.
Atiku could also be a mistake. If he does not repeat history by pandering .
